Benefits of obtaining it when changing jobs
- You can confirm in advance whether the work at your new employer falls under your current status of residence.
- It reduces the burden of having your new activities examined in detail at your next extension of period of stay.
- The employer can also confirm in writing that you are permitted to work.
Point to note
When you change jobs you must, separately from this certificate, submit a "Notification of the Accepting Organization" to the Immigration Services Bureau within 14 days.
We assist you from assessing whether the duties at your new employer match your current status of residence through to filing the application on your behalf.
Certificate of Authorized Employment

A Certificate of Authorized Employment is a document in which the Immigration Services Bureau certifies the work activities a foreign national is permitted to engage in in Japan. Obtaining it is optional, but it is particularly useful when changing jobs.
